Welcome to the social swarm!

Social Swarm is an open think tank initiated by the German privacy and digital rights NGO FoeBuD.

We want to put the users of social network services back in control of their data.
We want You to be able to choose which people see your data.
We want to be independent from centralized infrastructures.
We want a social swarm.

Get Started

Why don't you participate in this or that project?

We do take part in many projects and we hope those many projects will join forces with us. Social swarm is not about a particular solution to the problem but about the process of working together on the problem, beyond the federation.

Participate

You can take part in our project:

Vote on the priorities

We are looking into Liquid Democracy technologies in order to have a serious decision-making approach. We want you to have more than just your say on how the solution that everyone needs should be shaped.

Mailing lists

In the meantime, the conversation takes place by email and chat.

Keep in touch via the newsletter socialswarm-announce

Cultivate this wiki

The roadmap gives an overview of the upcoming tasks at hand for a proper development of the swarm. In case some pages are not linked here, you can consult the index. We also keep an archive of collaborative editors we used at the beginning for historical reference. Finally, some pages may have not been moved to Mediawiki yet. (which?)

If you're part of the problem,
the !swarmers group on Identi.ca
bounces to @social_swarm on Twitter (Hashtag is #socialswarm)
or even Facebook
and Google+.
